# Events (/docs/events)



An event holds its attendees, ticket types and tickets.

## Create an event [#create-an-event]

```ts
const { data: event, error } = await eventlayer.events.create({
  name: "After Hours",
  startAt: {
    utc: "2026-11-07T08:00:00Z",
    timezone: "Australia/Sydney",
  },
});
if (error) throw error;
```

This creates a General Admission ticket type too. Your event is ready to
[register attendees and issue tickets](/docs/attendees).

Times include a UTC timestamp and the event’s timezone. See [event time](/docs/event-time)
for converting local time, displaying dates and handling daylight saving.

## List events [#list-events]

```ts
const { data: events, error } = await eventlayer.events.list();
if (error) throw error;
```

## Configure an event [#configure-an-event]

Use the [dashboard](/dashboard) to edit the schedule, manage ticket types and assign
